About me
Hello! My name is Rahma Kedir, I am a creative digital photographer and writer based in Sammamish, Washington. Currently, I am studying Psychology and Business at the University of Washington Bothell, where I explore the intersection of creativity and human experience.
I am deeply passionate about capturing moments that evoke emotion and tell meaningful stories, and photography and writing have always been catalysts for my self expression.
When I am not behind the lens or writing, you can find me immersed in a good book, exploring new worlds through storytelling.
My work is driven by my desire to voice my opinion on important global topics and explore how they connect to the multidisciplinary themes I’ve engaged with over the years. Authors like N.K. Jemisin and R.F. Kuang have heavily influenced my work through their writing, which challenges oppressive systems, structures, and environmental-human dynamics. Jemisin’s exploration of environmental justice and Kuang’s critique of societal power systems consistently inspire me to reflect on the world around me and challenge beliefs through my own writing.
What started as being a journalist for a school club evolved into a passion for using my voice to tell stories and explore themes I resonate with. As an editor for my school newspaper, I found immense joy in bringing light to stories I could share with my local community, and I am eager to expand this passion into something larger. My work spans journalism, literary analysis’ and photography, each offering a unique way to engage with our world and spark conversations
