Summer in Washington holds a unique kind of magic. My approach to these images was to best capture and convey the feeling of a Washington summer through the lens. From crisp mountain air to dense forest trees, the photos showcase the beauty of the state during its warmest season, while also shifting my perspective on photography. This project has made me realize that photography isn’t just about capturing a vision; it’s about evoking emotion and a yearning for a specific place or view. 

Reflecting on my favorite photographers and the images I often think about, I now understand that it’s not just the places I want to visit, but also the contentment those images bring me; whether it’s a smile, a raised eyebrow, or a deeper connection, the best photography truly evokes emotion.
