This project was inspired by my passion for capturing everyday moments. This idea came to mind as I realized I have an infinite amount of photos in my camera roll that showcase the beauty of Washington state. I have an appreciation for candid photography because it highlights spontaneous moments that often go unnoticed. While photography is often seen as searching for perfect shots, I aim to encourage others to see the beauty in daily life. The goal of this project is to highlight the hidden beauty in ordinary moments.

Why do we Fail to Reach the Truth?
May 2023
Literary analysis
This project critiques W.E.B. Du Bois and John Stuart Mill’s views on societal truth, with a focus on race, freedom, and individuality. In The Souls of Black Folk and On Liberty, Du Bois and Mill discuss systemic oppression and the importance of diverse perspectives in uncovering ‘the truth’. The project also highlights how truth is shaped by power structures and personal biases, issues we might recognize today in a world where misinformation and selective truths prevail. Through this exploration, I aim to encourage reflection on how we can overcome these societal barriers. Key features of this project include exploration of themes such as the power of education and the limits of authority.

Israeli Oppression against Palestinian’s continues this Ramadan
The Spartan Forum
News article, April 2022
This article was written and reported prior to October 7, 2023, and provides an in-depth look at the ongoing struggles Palestinians face under Israeli occupation, particularly during Ramadan. Initially inspired by a desire to inform my local community about a significant global issue, this piece aims to shed light on the systemic oppression Palestinians endure daily. I hope to encourage readers to critically engage with this topic, challenge common narratives, and consider the broader implications of what is taking place in Palestine right now. Though this project is from an earlier time, it remains even more relevant today, as we witness the escalating death toll in Palestine.
